If you are someone like me then you swear by spreads and dips to end your cravings! Not only are they delicious but also filling and can be enjoyed in a number of ways. What if I tell you can make these at home and make them taste better than store brought, no kidding!
Today, I am going to share with you 3 such recipes that you can easily make at home.
PEANUT BUTTER
Yields 3/4 cup of creamy deliciousness.
Ingredients :
100 grams of peanuts
salt
2-3 dates

Instructions :
1. Roast the peanuts on medium heat for a few minutes for added texture.

2.Once cooled, remove the skin of the peanuts and add the to a blender and blend them on high spread for a minute. It will turn into a powder form and start to release oil.

3.Scrape the sides and blend for a few more minutes until it reaches a creamy consistency.

4.Add 2 dates and blend until smooth. You can add more if you want to increase sweetness. Add a pinch of salt and just blend once.

5.This will result into a creamy peanut butter. If you want a crunchy consistency then just add a few roasted peanuts and blend for a few seconds on low speed. I went for the creamy version.

You can enjoy this in a number of ways, for some inspiration I have shown three ways in which you can use this; as a spread on toasts, as a dip for fruits, as a topping on your oatmeal. Or like me you can eat it directly as is! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!
HUMMUS
yields one bowl of hummus.
Ingredients:
1 cup chickpeas (soaked overnight)
tahini
garlic powder or 2 pods of garlic
1 tsp lemon juice
salt
2 tsp. oil
Instructions:
1. Add the chickpeas to a blender and blend it on high speed.

2. Once it reaches a thin consistency add in tahini ( if you don't have it then blend in 2 tbsp. of lightly roasted sesame seeds till it becomes smooth) , garlic powder/pods, lemon juice and oil. Then blend it again for a few seconds until it becomes slightly thin, not too much.

3. Add in a pinch of salt and just blend once. Hummus tastes best when it's lightly dense in texture.

You can enjoy the classic hummus with pita bread combo, use it as a dip, use it on wraps, or just on it's own.
ALMOND CHOCO SPREAD
Yields one cup of choco awesomeness
Ingredients :
1/2 cup almonds
1.5 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3-4 dates
sweetener of choice (optional)
plant based milk (optional)
salt
2 tsp oil

Instructions:
1. Roast the almonds slightly on medium heat and allow them to cool.

2. Then add them to a blender and blend on high speed and blend until it starts releasing oils.

3. Then add in the cocoa powder, vanilla extract, dates, oil. I added coconut sugar for extra sweetness, you can use maple syrup or sugar or any other sweetener and blend till everything is mixed well.

4.If you want to a thinner consistency add in the milk accordingly. Finally add just a pinch of salt and blend it just once.

I am sure I don't have to tell you how to enjoy this! The very best way is to just eat it directly. You can also use it as a topping for pancakes, a dip for fruits especially strawberries, to make desserts, the options are countless.
All of these will last up to a month just make sure to store them in an air tight container in the fridge.
I hope you give these recipes a try and enjoy them as much as I did!
